Ipstenu on "Static HTML Cache - Delete Selected Files?"

About once a week I upload a couple hundred images. The rest of the time, my site is really static. This plugin is perfect for that, since I can keep my CPU usage low :) The night I upload those...

No, except you delete them manually via ftp. Generally the cache does delete outdated file itself and updates according to the limit set on the option.

Can't delete via FTP any more than I can logged into shell. Probably for this reason: [...] the folders and files get created as owned by nobody, which means my user ID can't clean them without...

This is a configuration error for your server. These files are created by Zenphoto, so should belong to the "owner" for the running scripts. They should be no different from the cached images, can you...

Ipstenu on "Static HTML Cache - Delete Selected Files?"

Nope. Looks like they're owned by nobody as well. I'm going to go look into PHP and see why it's being stupid.

Ipstenu on "Static HTML Cache - Delete Selected Files?"

Yeah, it'd my host. And since fiddling with PHP screwed up other things, I scripted a cleanup script in PHP that fixes permissions. Since it runs as nobody it has access to ... nobody's files. I feel...

Hello, I am using ZenPhoto version 1.3 with ZpFocus 1.3. Also I have enabled the static_html cache. I understand that my pages, albums, images, etc are there after they are viewed, but am I suppose to...

It makes your site faster and can put less strain on your server. And the cache is cleaned every 24 hours, so it catches up. If you need to add new images and have them available ASAFP, you can...

acrylian on "fclose and fopen error with Static Cache?"

As you surely know Zenphoto generates the display dynamically via PHP using MySQl and file system. This can add up a lot of server power if you have a lot of visitors as it is done for each of them,...

Ipstenu on "fclose and fopen error with Static Cache?"

There's a 'that's what she said' joke in there. Seriously, though, my site would DIE were it not for static cache! 39471 Images, 624 Albums, and when I add new albums, it's usually 60-100 photos, all...

What does your zenphoto.cfg file have for the $conf['db_software']?

My notes say I'm on 1.4.4.1b but admin says: 1.4.4.1 [596740f651]Reinstalled the files anyway though, cause it's not like it hurts anything.(zp-core/version.php says 1.4.4.1 on my server and a fresh...

If you install from the GitHub master branch (the support build) the overview will say 1.4.4.1s. The only release that will show as 1.4.4.1 with no letters is the original 1.4.4.1 release, so I would...

Maybe you still are not on the current master build. If you have set CHMOD in your config file there would be nothing saying you HAD to change the value. And any suggested value would have been 0666 if...

That means that the 0755 security does not work on your server installation. The error messages are saying that Zenphoto cannot write to those folders.

It's never thrown that error before (been using since '09 ;) ). However odd that is, though, it does explain it.DSO PHP is locked so php generated files are owned by 'nobody' - my cache and cache_html...

sbillard on "Keep getting told to re-run setup because mySQL is a new version"

I guess if the cache was really writeable then the error was wrong. But if Zenphoto really could not write to the cache then it would be pointless to continue as Zenphoto would crash upon execution.We...

I think your is_writable... is working fine, on reflection. The cache_html folder worked (cache didn't because I had it set one more folder deep - cache is NOT writable, but cache/folder/ was, I...

The data folder needs to be writeable for much the same reasons as the cache file. The other two are possibly exceptions. But, Zenphoto does write to both folders on occasions. The album folder if you...
